Getting the most out of Yumelog

Record Your Dreams

When you wake up, tap the Record tab at the bottom to log your dream. Enter a title and content, then select a category (Normal, Nightmare, Lucid, Recurring, Prophetic). Adding emotion tags and custom tags makes it easier to review later.

Review Your Dreams

The Home tab shows your most recent dreams as a list. The Calendar tab lets you browse dreams by date. Tap any dream to open the detail view and see its full content and tags.

Analyze with AI

Open the Analysis tab and tap "Analyze" on an unanalyzed dream. The AI will provide an interpretation, symbol meanings, emotion themes, and psychological insights. An OpenAI API key is required for analysis.

Detect Patterns

Tap "Detect Patterns" in the Analysis tab to cross-analyze three or more dreams. The AI will identify recurring themes, symbols, and emotional patterns across your dream history.

Configure Your API Key

To use AI analysis, enter your OpenAI API key in the Profile tab under Settings. Your API key is stored securely on your device and is never sent to external servers (except OpenAI for analysis requests).

Answers to common questions

All data is stored locally on your device. Your dream records are never sent to external servers, except when using AI analysis (which sends dream content to OpenAI's API). Please note that uninstalling the app will permanently delete all your data.
You need an OpenAI API key. Enter it in the Settings section of the Profile screen. You can get an API key from the OpenAI Platform. Standard OpenAI usage rates and terms of service apply.
Yes. You can edit and delete dreams from the dream detail screen. The edit screen lets you change the title, content, category, emotion tags, and custom tags. Please note that deletion is irreversible.
Currently, there is no built-in backup feature. Since all data is stored only on your device, it cannot be transferred when changing devices. We plan to add backup functionality in a future update.
Yes, the app itself is free to use. However, AI analysis requires an OpenAI API key, and standard OpenAI API usage fees apply. Dream recording, calendar view, favorites, and other core features are all free.
The app uses OpenAI's GPT-5 (gpt-5-mini) model. Based on your dream content, it provides interpretations, symbol meanings, emotion themes, and psychological insights. Please note that AI analysis results are for reference only and are not a substitute for professional psychological consultation.
